The safety of people using our products is of paramount importance to us and we offer free of charge, on site training and certificating to our end users in the safe use of all of our powder and gas tools.
In 2007 alone we issued around 11,500 product users with training certificates which are valid for 2 years, after which time the user will need to take a refresher course before their certificate can be updated. 85% of our training is carried out by our own staff, the remainder by fully qualified, authorised instructors on our behalf.
While not a legal requirement the free training and certification provided by us is one step employers can take to ensure they meet the Provision And Use Of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) which stipulates that any equipment provided at work must be suitable for the intended use; safe for use, maintained in a safe condition and used only by people who have received adequate information, instruction and training.
We are currently working with many major contractors by training their staff such as H&S Officers/Advisers & senior contract personnel as authorised instructors which then enables them to train their own employees.
Maintenance forms a large part of our training programme as most tool problems are caused by lack of care. Our products are designed for rapid firing to increase productivity but a poorly maintained tool can lead to unnecessary down time for the user. To keep tools in good working order, as well as a yearly professional service, we recommend users also clean their tool every 10,000 fixings.
