The flexible rubber material allows for pipe movement due to
expansion and contraction or vibration, maintaining a weatherproof seal

Under normal weather conditions Dektite pipe flashings have a life expectancy
in excess of 20 years. Dektite EPDM flashings are made of Ethylene Propylene
Diene Monomer Polymer compound to give excellent resistance against ozone,
ultraviolet light and water. Dektite silicone flashings are made of high quality
silicone rubber material.

Installation
| Dektite should dress up the pipe a minimum of 20mm or two full rings |
| Keep clearance hole around the pipe to a minimum. For optimum performance, wherever possible, the flashing should be centred on a high corrugation |
| Cut to suit pipe size using scissors, or trimming knife as supplied in fixing kit and follow size cutting guide on sleeve |
| Slide flashing down pipe using water or lubricant supplied in fixing kit |
| Hand mould to fit profile |
| Mark around edge of dressed flashing |
| Pre-drill tapping holes using drill bit supplied in fixing kit |
| Hold back edge of flashing, brush away all loose swarf and apply a complete bead of sealant inside the entire marked line |
| Firmly re-dress flashing |
| Fasten down using washered fasteners supplied in kit |
Complete Fixing Kit

Generally no sealant is required around the pipe where the Dektite collar provides compression fit.
However, some metal pipes and flues include a seam, which may require a local application of silicone
sealant at the point where the Dektite collar crosses the seam.
Dektite cone diameter to seal pipe should be minimum 25mm smaller than the pipe outside diameter.
This will give approximately 20mm width of flashing material in contact with the pipe surface.
For Round flashings Comprises 78gm dispenser of silicone sealant, 1 trimming knife, 1 drill bit, 12 washered
fasteners, 12 plastic caps, lubricant, fitting instruction leaflet.
For Soaker flashings. Comprises three 78gm dispensers of silicone sealant, 1 trimming knife, 1 drill bit, 30
washered fasteners, 30 plastic caps, lubricant, fitting instruction leaflet.
For Stripflash. Comprises 150 washered fasteners, 150 plastic caps, plus three 310ml tubes of silicone sealant,
one drill bit and fitting instruction leaflet.
The high-grade silicone sealant included in fixing kits remains flexible throughout the life of the flashing.
It is an adhesive as well as a sealant and will remain serviceable to the same extremes of temperatures as the
Dektite flashing range.
